Have an old Potterton Kingfisher boiler and external section of flue was removed to render wall, does it need anything special to seal, previously just had a bit of silicon around it. :?:

Seal what to what?

Flue to boiler? Or flue opening in wall?
Back plate of flue where it meets the wall, previously any gap [pebble dashed wall originally]would cause the pilot light to be blown out.It fixes to the wall with just a single fixing, centre top and bottom.
