I am sorting out a few border areas and the backdrop for these will be a fence run (feather boards with gaps). I need to put something against the fence between the face of the fence boards and the soil for the border or the soil will just fall through the fence gaps into another area of hard landscaping behind. Something similar to what I suspect people use for lining wooden planters (not that I have ever done such a thing - but thats soon on the list of jobs)
Question is can I use something I have or do I need to splash out some more cash. I have 2 things that I think might be appropriate but I don't know if there is some reason I am unaware of as to why they would not be suitable.
1) Roll of DPC (damp proof course) that I dont need anymore and would be an ideal height to staple along the fence OR
2) Landscape fabric that I have left over
Can I use either and if not why not
Thanks folks
