I am laying underfloor heating pipes, followed by a sand and cemend screed.
I have read that the pipes need to be under pressure whilst the screed is layed and dries.

Is this really nesessary. There are no joints under the screed. I will heat the floor up fully and allow to cool before tiling to get any possible cracking out of the way.

I cannot connect the pipes to the manifoild as the walls are not plastered and there is no roof on the extension yet.

Most put a board on the wall mate & connect the manifold/pipes etc. This will permit you to test as required. And a test is required, this not only ensures all the pipes are water tight, but if you leave it on test, and a pipe gets damaged you'll know right away.

You don't want cracks in any concrete containing pipes mate, two concrete surfaces moving will bust the pipes!!

Thanks for the reply.

Have ordered the manifold so I can connect it all up before screeding.

Cheers
