Hi all,

Going to lay hardwood flooring on a well insulated screeded floor of 40m2, we have wet underfloor heating in situ (i.e. pipes with water rather than electric).
Not too sure how to lay the floor, i want to glue thin wooden battens to the floor and then glue the hardwood to the battens in the opposite direction, however this will leave a small space between the screeded floor and the wood of about 5mm which i intend to partially fill with 3mm of underlay especially designed for under laminate flooring over this kind of underfloor heating. Anyone any idea if this will have an impact on the heat at ground level? Anyone got a better suggestion, all are welcome.
Thought about glueing the hardwood directly to the floor with Sikabond T54 but i was worried this would be overly expensive and that the hardwood may actually part from the screed over time.
Thanks guys.

Wood is a pretty good insulator and when you cover the pipes with underlay as well, I doubt that you will get a lot of heat out of it. techno help of supplier should be able to give you alternatives

I would not glue the wood floor to the sub floor, instead lay thin foam layer for sound deadening and then hardwood over this creating a floating floor. Remember this wood floor needs to expand and contract. Consult the manufacturers for their advice.
