I need to connect an old 3/8" I/D copper pipe (on a narrowboat)
to a new 10mm O/D pipe (connection to bubble tester)
I cant seem to find a reducer of this size
Any suggestions ? or specialist suppliers?
Thankyou Steve

Are you gas registered to work on boats?

Someone who used to work as a boat inspector used to say that they did not need to be CORGI registered ( then ).

Go to a Hydraulics/Pneumatics supplier.
I normally use a company called Thorite.

They will be able to sort out An "Enots" fitting to suit.

If I was stuck I would turn up a fitting from a bit of brass!

Would you class that as an approved fitting.

Pipework on boats must be silver soldered or brazed. (melting point above 450c)

Suitable compression fittings need pipe inserts.

Why are posted thinking gas.

Probably is but we don't know that.

B.S.S. (Boat Safety Scheme) guidelines should be followed. Soldered joints are susceptible to cracking with vibration. Mechanical joints may loosen, but can easily be repaired.
