Hello,

Please help me, this has been driving me crazy for ages. I recently replaced my Terraneo phone with a Bell 801 however I cannot get it to work.

Obviously, you would have thought it is pretty straight forward given the above detailed connetion advice but I still cannot manage it. The wires I have are Blue/White - White/Blue, Green/White - White/Green and Orange/White - White/Orange pairs. The new phone only has 5 connections, however the old handset is not quite the same as the picture above as it had 6 connections to include, I preume, the privacy button.

If someone could tell me which colour wires go into IROTZ I would appreciate it very much, I just want to be able to order take-away without having to look out the window for the delivery man, or have the postman be able to deliver my parcels instead of always having to collect them from the sorting office because of one erroneous wire :(

Thanks

Best thing is to connect O and I first, and check you have buzzer from the door.

Then connect Z and check you can release the lock. If you can't, swap O and I. Check you have buzzer and lock release.

Then touch the remaining wires to T until you can hear sound in the earpiece. Finally R should give you speech to the door.

Disclaimer - I think Terraneos used to be powered through the handset carbon microphone to the speech panel. Newer Bell phones have an different sort of microphone and may not work with the Terraneo panel, in which case you will not get any speech in any direction. But you should be able to get buzz and lock.

The 6th wire should be spare on both systems. Teranneo might have had a terminal for it to be parked on and Bell doesn't.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply, I believe I have connected everything properly. I have the unlock button working but the buzzer is not working. If I connect a multimeter between the common and call wire what should the reading be? Just so I know whether the wiring is faulty or not.

Thanks for your help,

Hannah

about 10-12V and probably AC - when the call button at the door is being pressed. Nothing when it's not.

Have you checked it's not the call button not gone faulty? They are always vulnerable to damp/dirt.

As Owan said, is the call button functioning?
Is this why you changed the handset.
The pair you have are capable of a straight swap over.

Have you speech both ways? If so Along with the door release your 99% there.

Hi
I was wondering if you managed to resolve this problem. I've managed to to the same stage as you of communication and door release working but no buzzer.
Thanks
