Who makes 3P/ 3 phase MCB's with integral RCD? Do Crabtree?

Cheers
Mike

Merlin gerin make din rail mounted ones, never seen one that fits on a bus bar though

I know the theory behind it, I was wondering why you need one in your particular circumstance ie explain the circuit !

I am providing protection for a radial circuit, for sort circuit/ over current due to malfunction or possible future cable damage. Does this mean I don't need to cover cables with RCD automatic disconnection??

What does the radial circuit feed and what are the installation conditions, cable type etc
5 core 10mm csa, yy cable in steel trunking in radial circuit. Power distrubution cable for PV plant.

Why do you need one ?
Look back through his body of posts here.

You'll see that that question is irrelevant, and the one you should be asking is "when are you going to stop messing around with things you clearly do not understand and get an electrician before you kill yourself?"

Because {.....} the RCD prevents shock from residual current passing to earth via someones body.

It will not prevent such a shock. It will only limit the duration of the shock, and then only if the shock current exceeds the actual tripping current of the RCD.

Why does the PV plant need RCD protection, does the manufacturer specify it?

Are you aware that this might have to be a type B rcd if fitted if the inverters are not i) transformer based, or ii) otherwise incapable of feeding dc currents into the Ac side

why yy cable in trunking for this this installation wouldn't 6491x make more sense?

Do you know that this installation almost certainly will have to meet G59, and the DNO are likely to insist that a G59 relay is installed, and commisioned with them having the oppertunity, if they so wish to witness the test and have input on protection settings?

Cheers Adam,
Inverters used comply with G83/1 and G59/2 code. The inverted also has integral residual current disconnection as standard. (so my over sight)
Yes, I could easily have drawn 6491x but chose YY cable. Regarding the DNO, yes they have been contacted and are waiting for a response as its slightly over 17 amps/phase.
