Hi all,
I'm hoping someone can help with what is probably a really stupid question from a plumbing novice! Recently, my push button flush toilet has occassionally continued to empty water into the bowl after flushing. Then, last night, as I was lifting the lid off the cistern to have a look, the flush valve (I hope this is the right term!) popped up and is now sitting too high to put the cistern lid down properly.
At the moment, it looks like this http://img715.imageshack.us/img715/4528/cistern1.jpg
What I'm referring to as the flush valve is the blue and white bit on the left. I know it's hard to say, but should there be a way to adjust this so it can be lowered again so I can get the cistern lid back on? If so, how is this likely to be achieved, e.g. by turning and pushing down for example?
Apologies again if this is a really basic/stupid/unanswerable question, just thought I'd ask before poking around and potentially breaking something!
