toilet flush button come off

So we have a push button flush system on our toilet, recently the button came away from the cistern lid. We realised that the button had just been attached underneath by tape.

How do we fix the button to the cistern?
Should be buy a new flush valve or flush button?

please ignore the tape around the button, I've just removed it.

from where? I only see it with the flush button.
