Sainsburys just finishing a deal 800W M/W for£39.99 nice unit.
Mine only seem to last 5 yrs or so and all I do is either defrost or reheat. Never cook in them as such, except scrambled eggs. Rather good.

I had some plates that had metallic engravings, no sharp ridges or pointy edges but still let off fireworks?
 
try microwaving a DVD disc, interesting, perhaps more interesting is my wife's insistance of leaving the microwave door open after use 'to let the heat out' :lol:
