Under Worktop connections

Tried to post this several times but it never seems to appear . . .

Reconfiguring daughters kitchen and the oven and hob are both connected to FCUs behind the oven.

Ideally these should be FCUs above the worktop so they are accessible but I shouldn't do that as it is a kitchen . . . .

The FCUs will also be a pig to connect in the back of the unit.

Any reason why I can't swop them for sockets since they are both sub 13A loads?

The FCUs are fed in 6mm, one spurred from the other.

As it's a kitchen would seem to be the logical thing to do, there is no shouldn't about it. There will be issues regarding notification but that does not mean it should not be done and if you intended to do the work an application and fee will be needed and charged.

If both appliance are fitted with the standard 3 pin plugs, there would/should be no reason, if as you stated

is correct. Unless the circuit is an RFC and the two sockets are spurs and spur from each other, then this would not be considered a compliance and further alteration would be needed to comply. If circuit is a radial, which 6mm cable suggests then this would be okay.
If the manufacturers instructions of the appliances state otherwise, then they must be complied to.
The accessories/sockets, should be easily accessible for inspection and testing purposes.
The one problem that often crops up with housed units is that the appliance will not push back far enough, when socket and plug are at a level preventing this from happening, that is why you often find FCU or outlet plates situated behind the appliance, rather than socket outlets. So would be worth assessing that prior to changing accessories.
