Hard earned talent

No doubt some of you will state that you never watch this sort of rubbish, however, for those of us that do have it on in the background at least....

What a load of rubbish

This afternoon I watched/listened to a DVD of a recital made by Rubenstein (who was a concert pianist). He'd been playing the piano for about 70 years at the time of the recording an was an exceptional talent and yet very very humble.

Just who the heck do these jumped up little squirts think they are my being able to vaguely sing vaguely in (a random) tune on the X-factor??? Where's the relentless hard work, dedication and skill that real professional artistes have undegone for their success?

I agree - talent show contestants should all have at LEAST 70 years experience before they dare sing a single note.

He will have practised day in day out for several hours a day for a few years before he would have got up on stage. These people on the box have sung for a few hours and have a load of loud music (performed by professional musicians who will have put the years of graft in) and a large group of professional dancers (who also will have put years of graft in) to camouflage the limited and shoddy pile of shite that comes of these "contestants'" mouths.

Simple answer.
Don't watch, don't listen, don't buy.

In short, turn the bloody telly off and do something.

I'm trying to persuade my daughter that these people and the whole concept is a load of drivel based on nothingness, (a bit like the Shades of Grey book trilogy), and a marvel of marketing and advertising.

She has to come to that conclusion herself, obviously. But it's my duty as a parent to lead her along the path of righteous indignation ;)

You are doing singers a disservice here.

These fckwits are a world away from being able to hold a tune or sing a note. Certainly don't earn the right to be called 'singers'.

I've just heard some little twerp. who understands less than nothing about anything, making some curious noises come out of his mouth to the words of John Lennon's "Imagine".

FFS.

whilst i agree most seven minute wonders are carp some are great in fact they can be more entertaining
i have no problems with a "natural" in any area short cutting the whole process but they should have the correct talent and ability without all the masking and hype
i stop watching x factor and britain has talent when the local auditions have finished as the masking starts
i don't watch strictly ice jungle brother as they are waning people in the public eye or people without talent so pointless and not entertaining to me

i do think its really bad when quite a few young adults aspire to be on one off these shows as there lives ambition over getting a skill/training under there belt

i do think its really bad when quite a few young kids aspire to be on one off these shows as there lives ambition over getting a skill/training under there belt

Unfortunately that's the way it is now for young people it seems.
They want instant celebrity, instant rewards, without having to put the hard work in to earn those things. And without seeming to realise that those things only come to a very few.
These poxy shows only encourage that sort of thinking among them.

Just goes to show there is no limit to the ridicule people will suffer in their search for 15 minutes of fame.

sorry altered my description to "young adults" as i thought young kids looked patronizing and disrespectful:cool:

It's been on again in the background for a while this evening. Load of tat with sycophantic drivel from "the judges".

Can't believe that Tulesa is 24 - she looks about 36 and sounds about 5

It is a load of ******.....and no matter who wins this moron competition they will be xmas number 1 ...real artists have not got a chance....majority of them have never held a musical instrument
