Just like to tell you all that a fish tank heater, from Argos £10.99, in the cistern has stopped the the condensation dripping on the new oak floor. I had been thinking of boxing it in but this works fine.

Not exactly an approved electrical fitting in a bathroom setting.
Personally, I just wipe the worse of the condensation off with a towel as I'm leaving the room after a shower. Works wonders and keeps it clean

Not actually sure what im hearing here.
Your preheating your toilet flush water to keep condensation off the floor of your bathroom?
If nothing else, what happens if you do as I often do, get up, use the loo, taken a shower.

Presumably the ambient heat in the ceramic is sufficient, providing enough time before the heater gets the new water up to temp?
Still think a towel, mist pad or flannel is the way to go. But then again, I have children and am wary of using up excessive fossil fuels which they will have to do without in the future.

Use a kettle element - you can flush yourself some hot water for a cup of coffee while you wait for your beamer to warm up in the garage

I like that! Although im not sure about putting my mug into the loo pan to make a brew!
My girlfriends currently in arctic finland and they will start to plug the cars in overnight soon as its already -16c during the day and things stop working below about -25!

Good luck with that. Got a mate who fits flooring, he says he's yet to come across any laminate that really is bathroom resistant, reckons it's all cr@p and won't fit it unless the customer really insists, he fits and recommends Karndean for wood effect flooring
100 watts. Well over £100 per year to run.
Supplied with a plug on it, which isn't helpful as bathrooms / toilets don't have sockets outlets in them. Bring on the extension lead trailing into the bathroom / shower / etc.
Idiot or a windup.
