In England and Wales, for Notifiable work, it is not possible to get an electrician to "sign off your work" and fill out the certificates truthfully.

Ahh, so that'd be the electrician lying, not me. But I had always assumed that if the work was done to his (or her) standard, it was a bit of a technicality who actually chased the wall, or screwed in the back-box, and hardly something to rant about on a forum. Isn't there some kind of provision for working under supervision (like as an apprentice), or does everyone involved have to be qualified?
