I'm trying to find an external coach lantern to match some existing ones.

It's a four sided light with an open bottom, and takes a BC lamp.

The house is 24 years old, and they are original to the house.

Here's a (bad) picture of one of the existing fittings I'm trying to match.

Thanks for looking :)

how is it fixed to the wall? Is that a bracket over the top? Or is there a hidden fixing point behind the light?

It's got a bracket similar to what you'd hang a hanging basket from to hold it to the wall!

It doesn't need to be an exact match but similar would be good. The customer has said he really want's an open bottomed fitting as it's easy to relamp, and BC lampholder as all the others are.

Thanks, yeah it's not far off at all. I think I've been struugling to find a BC fitting. They all seem to be ES these days.

Is this a wind up?

Won't it being open derate it's ip rating a rad...?!

Has gravity changed direction recently?!
There's no physical way for the water to run from the opening at the bottom to the lampholder at the top

I'm sure a man of your ability could swap out the lampholder for a BC in about 5 minutes anyway

They used to be very common, and never caused an issue. After all it never rains upwards

I was thinking this, but they all seem to be those horrible push fit clip in plastic lampholders :x

I'll keep looking, and if you happen to come across one fitting the bill, please let me know. The job isn't for a couple of weeks yet, so unusually, I have a bit of time for sourcing the correct part. :)

You mean the ones the fittings come with?

And will do, I'm currently scouring the interwebs for fittings for myself so I'll keep an eye out

We buy a lot of old pub lighting from here.

I think they call that style "Tudor"

They are quite helpfull usually and can sometimes advise just from texting them your picture

Will still subject to damp and moisture.

We used to have one like that years ago, bulbs didnt last long.

We now have a ip rated pir light outside the front door, had the same bulb in it since it was installed 3 years ago. (Tungsten)
