Hello

I have damp in a bedroom wall with an external chimney breast behind it. A friend suggested it could be coming in through the chimney crown. Took a look & it seems solid but looks damp.

I want to seal it with a coat of something but what?

Thanks

He said a coat OF something  . Google liquid masonry waterproofer ;) Thompson`s water seal aint a bad one .

Hehehe, very witty

Was looking in the garage & found a tin of Thompsons roof seal, does concrete the lot.
It's black but who'll see it up there

Probably similar to what you're talking a bout and it's uv resistant & breathable.
