The other day I noticed a sudden drop in water pressure in the kitchen. That was in the morning. In the same evening I noticed pressure loss in one my upsatairs bathrooms as well. The loss has continued to get worse, especially in the Kitchen. Some water outlets in the house are not affected, but the kitchen, which is on the main floor, is most affected. To me it seems like a moving blockage because the problems at various fausets seem to be dynamic, while some outlets are not affected at all. Does anyne have an idea of what's going on?

Not a clue M8 - the only thing I know about Kentucky is straight Bourbon  UK forum - you might get some generalised ideas

I did not realize this was a UK forum ... but I suspect water pipes get blocked the same way if stuff get into them, whether in Kentucky or UK ... so if you had ideas about such blockages in UK I would not have minded. And believe me, I would be very excited if it was loads of bourbon clogging the system ... but I just figured it out ... some loads of residual from hard water, perhaps from some major repair or a careless filter change upstream, came through the city water line and made it into my house. It is still going through the pipes, and when it reaches an outlet it is trapped by the sieve at that outlet, creating a clog. Much of it made it to the kitchen outlet.

I found this out not because I know this to happen in Kentucky, but because I figured that if both hot and cold water was blocked, the blockage was after the meeting point of the two ... so, right before the faucet. I am sure this would be the case in UK as well  .

By the way UK is very popular around here .... University of Kentucky (Big Blue), that is.
