Kind of a different plumbing question here...

I've created a clever way to turn my pool filler into more of a water feature. That and I have been known to leave it on a time or two. This way we'll know it's on. This is my second attempt at creating something that will shoot water out. The first attempt I used 2 gates to control the flow of each spout but it tended to cause water to spray out more than flow in a nice stream.

Anyway I was talking with a few people and they mentioned to make the whole thing with a loop of pipe thus causing equalized pressure throughout. Sounded like a great plan but now the right-most spout is considerably lower than the others and I can't figure out why. I'm not an expert in fluidity by any means and there's really not a lot going on here.

Any ideas?

It's probably down to where the inlet is.....off centre to the left!

bits of cut off copper sticking up from the bottom of the pool? is that not an accident waiting to happen??

Thanks for the replies. This is actually installed in a planter next to the pool.Would placing a gate on the left side help equalize things?

Dump that mess!

Single feed pipe with bullet manifold:

Or a linear manifold:

Mod: my mistake, new to the forum and I didn't know where to post. No sea lion that's my lab. Swims just as much. The manifold idea is clever. I had no idea that existed. I will look for one.

Thats a shame I would love a sea lion ! any way the manifolds you have been advised of are made by Yorkshire fittings and are readily available in the UK not sure about US though, they are called 22mm x 4 x 8mm central heating manifolds if I remember correctly, dont see them much these days but you can definately still get them, you can get them with six tails too if that would be more spectacular

The manifold idea is clever.
That goes without saying. It was mine.

I had no idea that existed. I will look for one.
This is a website on the other side of the pond. They may not be available on your side.
Ebay, as above, maybe your best option.

Another lot: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/22mm-x-3-...arden_Hearing_Cooling_Air&hash=item1c30222243

And:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/22mm-x-4-...arden_Hearing_Cooling_Air&hash=item1c309ac28d

Or a push-fit version. Can be used with copper pipe: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JOHN-GUES...DIY_Materials_Plumbing_MJ&hash=item460d716703

Bear in mind these are metric-sized fittings for metric pipe.

Yeah I can't manage to find anything even remotely close here in the US. I'm using 1/2" (just about 13mm if my memory serves me) pipe which is what actually comes from the house feeding the pool.

Because I've got this together, I might just move the location of the T to a more central location to see if that will solve anything. I also have a 1/2" gate laying around that I can place inline to restrict the right side.

Your problem was with distances of outlets from supply.
The below has all outlets equidistant.

A bit of pipe in each of the 4 elbow outlets will allow for directionality.
You may need to reduce to give a better fountain effect.
