Nope, not thinking of encasing a creature in wood...

Has anyone got a Defender model for their mobile?

Wondering if the touchscreen will still function if the screen has a protector on it, then the defender is fitted (it has a built-in screen protector).

Will it work, or will the layers be too thick?

got the defender on my 4s.

Actually its made for a 4' not the the 4s,but it fits fine. Robust, have dropped it plenty, sat on it in the back pocket etc. The screen protector has scratched, but any sheet of acetate cut to size would work.
The rubberised outer skin makes it just sit on the van dashboard, but, it is fiddly to retrieve from pockets in a hurry as it is so 'grippy'

Dust will get in it, and the camera ports fill with fluff, but its not ever so difficult to remove and clean every six months or so. ( FWIW, I use a plantornics bluetooth earpiece thingie to keep two hands free when repairing boilers and talking to techies etc)

Watch the youtube video first as to how to get it on.

I don't work for them by the way, nobody is gonna see you using it in the case and say " that there's an IPhone" and nick it from your hands though, as it HEAVILY disguises it.....)

Got the defender case for the iPad that I am triping this on.

Had an Otterbox on my Galaxy S2. Touch screen still worked through the protective film though I could never seem to get smeary fingerprints off it.
I found the rubber skin attracted fluff a lot too.

Excellent, thanks.

They may be approaching £40-50, but to my mind they're worth it if the phone costs £500.

FWIW, I thought the words of Churchill were, "We shall fight them on the beaches...."
