What is considered "best glue" nowadays ?
Something that doesnt take ages to dry/cure...

then a poly glue, generic gorrilla glue.iirc about 25 mins to cure.
they even do a 5 min cure,b.ugger to use if your really desperate. :D

No such thing as a 'best glu'e , there are hundreds on adhesives for hundreds of situations, depends what you want to glue.

Wood :D

Jokes aside, i used to at a place and time when animal glue was common and it was the best. Nowadays animal glue is stupidly expensive... And i'm returning to woodworking after a long time, hence the question - whats the best glue. In general sense. I do understand that there are different applications of glue fastening, but i'm just looking at general trends here...

I'm seeing a lot of people using plain simple PVA (white/yellow) for lamination of wood. Somehow i associalte PVA with school projects, not serious woodwork (but what do i know after so many years)...

Should i just get a tub full of white pva then ?

Everbuild D4 PVA for general everyday use

You have rather a large range of glues as well as fastening systems these days to choose from and as such some work better than others depending on the project.

I meant so many years NOT PRACTICING joinery :D A little misunderstanding.
I'm getting back in and no idea whats "current" in terms of glues. And other woodworking technologies for that matter...

There are some polyurethane glues that are of similar ilk to ex-foam, but come in a cartridge and are as sticky as sticky stuff. They do foam slightly and require clamping

But boy, do they grab!

But do they hold ?Grabbing is one thing, holding is entirely different kettle of fish...

whats the opinion on " everbuild all purpose weatherproof, 502" ?
Cant find d4 locally, 502 aplenty...
