If the live/neutral/earth loops come into one of the spot lights, which then feeds the switch loop, then you need to find that particular spotlight: - it is likely that all the other will simply link to it probably in a daisy chain effect.
However, if the live/neutral/earth loops come into and out of the switch then you will need to find the first spot light on the switch live/neutral/earth cable coming out of the switch itself.
In either case you would use that spotlight as either your main light or as a junction box link to where you want to put you main light.
If you provide photographs or drawings of the cables and their terminations at the switch - we should be able to determine which type you have and give further advice if necessary.
At least one person will be happy you are trading in your spotlights.

If the intention is to replace several lighting points for one, therefore jointing cables up and hiding them in the ceiling and repairing the holes made for them, making the joint inaccessible, then you will either need to make maintenance free joints or install a new continuous cable
thanks every1 for the advice, i couldnt get pics or anything as it was a blind job, but my friend has got new cable so will just install a continuous cable as prenticeboyofderry suggested ,thanks
