Decorative tiles on gable end: re-nailing

On the gable end of my house there are decorative tiles. These are hung vertically, nailed to a batten.
A couple of these have dropped out.

Is their an easy way to re-nail them? On a conventional pitched roof you can sometimes "wedge up" adjacent tiles, but these are vertically hung and there is not much leeway.

Maybe a dab of silicone and hope for the best?

The hardest part is getting the remainder of the broken tile out, then the replacement simply hangs on the batten.
A bit of silicone on the tail stops any rattling about.

The tile isn't broken. It fell out, complete with nail, onto the lawn. Maybe the batten is rotten?
The tile is flat, so doesn't hang on a batten. It is nailed through a hole in the tile to the batten.

The only way to do it without using gripbond or silicone is get a thin sturdy bar ie a hip iron put that over the nail and hit where accessible with a hammer.

Peg tiles more than likely.

Well spotted. They have chopped up a square tile, to fit under the eaves.
There doesn't look an easy way to bang that nail back in, unless I remove back to a few rows above it.

I would strip back a few row and see what is going on because they should not be falling out with the nail still in the tile.
