Hi.
Trying to install a ledgerboard in a highroofed garage to put in a floor for some extra storage but having trouble with getting the throughbolts to work properly. Worst still, yesterday I managed to blow out the back of the brick by hitting it too hard when installing it.
The wall is shared with my neighbour's garage so he's not too happy.
The garage is made of concrete blocks which are 100mm thick, and I'm using Fischer FXA 12/50 x 146 throughbolts to install a 9x2 ledgerbaord.
I'm drilling to a depth of 135mm (which includes the 45mm ledger), so I'm 85mm into the block, which to me seems a bit excessive being just 15mm to the other side.
I contemplated using the 12/30 x 126 version but my ledger is >30mm.
Also most of my bolts seem to be pulling out when I tighten them and not taking at all. The hole size is right and I'm cleaning them out but most just spin - any thoughts?
