Hi, I'm looking to buy a plinth heater that runs off the central heating but also want a thermostat so the kitchen doesn't get too hot when the rest of the heating is on.

I'm thinking of getting the smiths ss7 plinth heater but the mrs won't like the stats you can buy that smiths make (old dial type).

Can anyone recommend a cheap wireless stat that will work with a plinth heater? I've looked at a salus RT300RF but the wiring diagram confuses me. The hardwired stats i've looked at tend to have L and N in and L and N out to heater. The salus has L & N in but Com and N/O out. I know com will connect to the live of the heater but what do I do with my neutral connection?

Cheers

Rob

Hi Rob,

Link Live to Common in the room stat receiver.

Wire as below:
Supply Live - Live in Receiver
Supply Neutral - Neutral in Receiver and Plinth Heater
Supply Earth - Earth from Plinth Heater
NO in receiver - Plinth Heater Live

Fuse ratings etc should be fine. Bear in mind this will only run when that heating zone is operational.

Hope that helps mate.

James.
