Hi

Can anybody help. I am planning some leckie work in a friends house and he is having two 3650W ovens and one 6600w hob. They are quite close together (less than 2 mtrs). There is currently a 10mm feed running from a 45 amp fuse at the consumer unit. By law will i have to add another circuit?

Cheers

There are a lot of 45A 10mm² circuits all of a sudden.

2 x 3650W + 6600W = 58A

Applying diversity this comes to 24.4A (add 5A if you have an integral socket on the cooker switch) so is perfectly satisfactory on the circuit if you are correct.

However, if you are proposing to do this work in someone else's house you must properly test the circuit prior to installation.
That doesn't mean there is no need to test in your own house but then that would be your responsibility.

If you do not have the necessary equipment, which, if you had, you would not need to be asking this, I would recommend you leave it to an electrician.
