When my son clicks the IE icon it briefly opens then shuts down immediately. Any ideas why this is happening. We've run Norton but nothing shows up. OS is Windows 7 Home edition. Where can we obtain another copy of IE to install?

Why not try a "system restore" which should take you back to when it was working correctly?
Enyam, just discovered he has firefox so will use that to download a copy of IE.

It sounds like your already going to re-install / upgrade IE but this link sound like what you are experiencing http://support.microsoft.com/kb/967896
