Is it OK to return the HW through the stored Cold Water line in order to get the HW to the last tap quickly. Would be using Grundfoss Comfort pump with inbuilt timer. Is there any gotchas or advice I need to follow. I could run a dedicated return on the HW only but would be much simpler to use the cold water route. Thanks in anticipation.

What's the point of having a cold water pipe full of hot water?

Thanks Dan, should have added that the pump will only run until the hot water supply is hot so the cold water pipe will at worst be luke warm and as the stored cold water supply is not used for drinking , being slightly luke warm is not a showstopper.

Good point, but is there really a threat given that the water being drawn from the hot water supply into the cold supply would be more or less cold anyway. And the stored cold water supply is always open to germs from potential infestations in the cold water storage tank.
Never thought about Legionella in the home before so does this mean there is the same threat from the bath hot water as it has never been boiled to kill any germs. Can't remember what my own kids did in the bath but the grandkids sure do ingest a bit of bath water larking around.

legionella , is not a major problem, just follow guidelines
it is dormant below 15 degrees and active upto 60 degrees
cylinder guidelines are that stored water should be brought above 65 degrees at least once a month in a domestic situation, this will kill off any if present
