Hey guys.

I have a 2001 Ford Focus 1.8 turbo diesel, which has about 90BHP, After driving cars with over double that i'm finding it a bit slow, just wondered if anyone has any ideas on how I can improve performance without spending 300-400 on remapping it, I guess I could buy a chip of ebay?

Cheers guys

Replace it with a car that has double the power; it's not, nor ever will be, a performance vehicle. Paying 5 quid for a resistor off ebay will not see you spinning the wheels away from the lights

Sadly i dont have the money for another car at the minute, so was just wondering if there was something simple i could do to help performance . Cheers

I'm assuming by the year that this might be a TDDI, is it? If so there are reports of piston slap with these engines and I'd avoid trying to bring it on by chipping it.

It was possible to wind up the pumps on the old endura engines but not something i would recommend a novice doing.

Might I suggest a new fuel filter and air filter? Or if you wanted to try it without the air filter (testing only) and see?

And check under the pedal there's no restrictions

The Endura diesel? Forget about it, I'm afraid......its just not designed to be a revver. Imagine what it was like without a turbo!
