As per title I'm considering installing (or rather having an electrician install) a bathroom socket (shaver socket). I refurbished the entire house but ran into trouble with the builder near the end, so this is one of the "minor" things which didn't get done.
The problem is I have an electric toothbrush and constantly forget to stick it on charge in the bedroom (or rather my wife does). Apart from the inconvenience of finding the toothbrush is out of juice, the full discharges are killing the battery which braun haven't made easy to change. Hence its not such a minor issue now :/
Before I call an electrician I thought it prudent to check its feasible as I can't/won't open ceilings/tiled walls now. The location where I want to install (I've checked its not one of the prohibited zones) is a wall with a bedroom on the other side. There is a socket connected to the ring right there and the entire floor has its own RCD protection. Could I connect a fused spur off this socket and then run a cable into the shaver socket on the other side of the wall? Would that be permissible under regs/generally sensible/safe?
The only other option is to replace the sink mirror for new with storage and built in socket. The current mirror is connected to the lights, so can't use that spur as its switched. But there is an extractor immediately above (connected to fused spur), so could try and run the mirrors socket of that.
