Hi all,
I have a new kitchen sink tap to install. The new tap comes with x2 servicing valves and flexible connectors.
I've attached a picture of how the current tap is connected:
As you can see it has two copper pipes going into some speedfit type connectors.
My questions are as follows (no experience with speedfit stuff)
1) can I just disconnect the copper pipes and attach the servicing valves/flexible connectors to the existing speedfit connection? or do I need a new / another connector (I see speedfit do their own flexible connectors)
2) Do I need the servicing valves to comply with water regs? they would be useful actually since we don't appear to have an internal stoptap.
3) Should the piping be earthed here somehow? I gather using plastic connectors means you need to earth again, I assume the sink was plumbed in professionally so not sure why it wouldn't be? I do occasionally get mild shocks around the sink /washing machine/tumble dryer area
Thanks for any help
