Despite Jim Murphy over the last week or so thumping the message about No Cuts, up here in the far frozen North, Scotland that is. Ed. Balls has clearly stated Cuts will be required? all this within 4 Hours or so?

Real time totally joined up thinking by Labour, NOT, after all this is one of Labours heartlands? makes you wonder if Westminster have given up on Scotland already in line with the polls? Jim Murphy being the recently parachuted in new labour leader in Scotland being used as a sacrificial lamb?

Even Miliband, look direct o camera, agreed that cuts will be needed

Makes you wonder about the last Labour leaders resignation siting the high handed attitude of Westminster Labour.

Not to worry there is only one Conservative member of Westminster parliament, I wonder if the Conservatives will burnt that one?

But on a positive note there are no UKIP MSPs to get burned by the main party.

Can't say I'm too bothered about cuts. I work for a living.
Has that silly cow sturgeon been assassinated yet?

It never ceases to amaze me how people listen to and, God forbid, BELIEVE what MPs promise. Surely, we all now have enough experience of them to realise that whatever they SAY they will do, especially just prior to a general election, bears no relation to what they WILL do, or rather WON'T do.

A far more realistic measure of what they WILL do is what they HAVE DONE in the past. MPs, like leopards, do not change their spots.

Conservatives will continue with austerity, whilst handing our money to third-world country dictators as foreign aid. They will posture about gaining all manner of changes from the EU, and do a U-turn about the promise of a referendum.

LimpDems will contradict and attempt to veto any proposals offered by whomever they are lucky enough to enter into coalition with.

Labour? Even more simple. They will finally achieve the destruction of the UK.

UKIP is the only party without a previous track record.

Better the devil you know? Well I for one am pretty sure what the other parties would do and I don't particularly like it!

The best way to get the Scottish votes back from the SNP is to let them take all the seats - and then take away all their perks such as free prescription, free universities etc. They'll soon boot out the SNP.

Better still, let them have their independence. Then see how long they can fund their free prescriptions, free universities, etc, without financial aid from England!

MP's represent their constituency, so MP's of any party are not part of some kind of 'hive mind' who all agree on things.

Labour MP's in scotland fight the cuts because that is what the scottish want to hear, and what they will fight for. The scottish MP's (not just labour, but all of them) think they can fight the cuts, because they think they can treat Scotland as a seperate economy, in that they can force more central government payments to pay for their spending (which they have historically been able to do because of oil).

Labour MP's in the south agree to the cuts because that is what the south want. And even Labour recognize whilst a small <3% deficit is sustainable, our deficit is not that small. They also recognize that some people are getting very resentfull of a certain group of people getting benifits worth more than they work for, which means cuts.

So no, it is not about Labour/anyone failing at joined up thinking, it is about how Scottish MP's and English MP's (of any party) *can* differ.

The real issue is any Scottish candidate promising to deliver increased spending *without Scottish indipendance* is promising something they have little power or influence to deliver.

Just the same as I can't promise to give you more money, because I am going to demand and get a payrise, I might be told to 'do one'.

The best thing about being a Scot, is you can get married in a kilt without looking like a complete dick.

and if you wear underpants, no-one will see your dick anyway.

Given this is a UK wide, not just another Scottish referendum! there appears to be a complete breakdown in party communications, or do we have yet another case of the Grandees at Westminster treating Scotland's party representatives with a callous disregard.

Could be that the Grandees have read some Newspapers and actually believe them when they say that labour will be seriously struggling to gain seats in Westminster because of the upsurge in the SNP

Going back a bit, Some of you may have heard about Annabel Goldie? She was a very good Member of the Scottish Parliament leader of the Conservatives in that Chamber, with no warning She resigned stating that the Westminster Grandees had her as not even a second class citizen but much worse?

When will Westminster parties realise that to get the Electorate on board they will have to treat with at least a Modicum of respect, the Scottish Voters, Then again as far as the Conservatives are concerned in the up-coming Election, they have a grand total of One Westminster MP, could be that the Conservatives are viewing Scotland as an already lost cause, and for equanimity, UKIP do not exist up here, no MPs and certainly no MSPs yes they do have a MEP, won as the result of the PR election system, can be viewed as a Consolation prize, the UKIP MEP then went on to issue a load of verging on defamatory comments about some MSPs and Councillors
during a recent TV debate up here, the UKIP MEP was mauled severely by all parties because of his views and comments.

Ken

Unfortunately, Westminster doesn't realise that it should treat the people of England with respect let alone the people of Scotland.

squeaky, hi.

Could it be then argued or surmised that the above has promulgated the rise in UKIP + SNP ?

Just a passing thought?

Ken.
