Outbuilding Inspirational Project Cost

Visited a friend of mine who has constructed an outbuilding. I took some pictures below. He is a bit quiet about costs and how long it took

I wanted to ask what the cost of this would be if I wanted to build something similar. I am in london - It measures 9 m long and 2.4 m high. It is all of wood with insulation and plastered on the inside. The floor and ceiling are insulated as well.

It has a felt roof.

From what I understand you have concrete pads and then lay the wood joists down insulate plaster and put the floor down.

With that in mind what budget do i need for a posh shed?

Thats a nice shed! Id imagine the budget will vary massively depending on the spec you build to. If you used slightly thicker cladding or insulation for example , over 9m that would make quite a difference in price.

Mine has cost me around 2 grand so far but I have been lucky with some second hand materials.

No wonder he's quiet - It's a habitable space and he will not have planning permission for it. It would also come under building regulations as there's a bathroom in it.

It's the kitchen bit that would need PP.

A straw poll of people I work with indicated this would cost upwards of 25K

That seems increddibly expensive - My personal view is that you would get change from 10K

if you do the work yourself you can cut down the costs significantly, but that's a decent spec living space, @MR M - DT nice shed if you can call it a shed, be nice to see it finished and what the costs were. You doing all the work yourself?

I am not doing the works - Its a friends place

Was just curious how much this would cost if I did something similar - What is your view?
