Want to replace an 1000 x 800mm over the sink bathroom mirror and need a good waterproof backing board. I believe that the old backing was laminated MDF but am not sure since it's been binned. Any recommendations?

Was the mdf that you binned swollen ??
Buy a sealed mirror and no backing is required.

Yes, very slightly.

Sounds ok. Will check the wall to see if it is perfectly flat over the mirror area. Will now Google sealed mirrors.
