I also didn't know what a pocket door was 'til I read this.
BTW - my reply to noseall wasn't meant to come across as patronizing, I see some of you guys, tony, noseall, freddy, sarcastic woody et al as gurus minus 1 as I've learnt a lot from you all over the last 6 months with my house build, but I assumed these concepts were common....well certainly from all of the home shows I have been to and reading the magazines anyway. Might be an American term, not sure if there is an English equivalent......sliding door doesn't quite give it justice I think.

I've heard of pocket doors before. It's not just a US term it's known in the UK as well.
It's just one of those more modern terms that some of these ageing builders obviously aren't aware of.....
