Scaffolding Costs - Ballpark figure ?

Hi,
I'm trying to work out ballpark costs for a roofing job.

Roughly how much should I budget for scaffolding for a Victorian 3 bed mid terrace , front and back, approx 6.5m width.

Job is up north , tyneside.

I used a company called DW(Durham)about 2 years ago, they were reliable and keenly priced.

Give them a ring, they'll give you a free quote.

No connection just a satisfied customer.

The job we did was on a 22000sq/m factory so not too sure our costs would help

I got them through a recommend from a local(to you)builder who uses them on domestic work. He's a tight ass so they must be reasonable.

If you give them a ring they might give you a guesstimate over the phone, who better to get a ballpark figure off?

In Manchester I'd expect to pay about £800

Prob's be in the region of £400 - £600 rips. You will likely need a permit for the front elevation as well as tube protection and possibly lighting.

Spoke to a local guy this morning, he said £500 + vat , I never asked about permits.

Is a permit the same as a licence ?

Apply for a scaffolding licence

If you wish to position a scaffold on a highway, which includes any public path, pavement or road, the person wishing to erect the scaffold must apply to the council for permission.

Anyone erecting a scaffold or hoarding on the highway should be aware of the following requirements:

• It is an offence to erect a scaffold on the highway without the permission of the council
• The council may grant permission by issuing a licence with or without conditions
• The owner of the scaffold must make sure that it is erected and maintained in accordance with safety conditions attached to the licence
