Which new boiler? Worcester or Ideal?

Hi its time to replace my Alpha boiler which I have had nothing but trouble with! But which boiler is best! Ive been quoted for a Worcester Bosch Greenstar 32 cdi combi at around £2500 with a magnet filter, chemical flush, honeywell controls. I have also been told that Ideal Logic Plus is good but haven't got an actual quote yet but I believe there cheaper, I have had so much trouble with my old inherited boiler I don't want to get it wrong! It's for a 4 bed 2 bath 12 radiator detached house and one of the rads downstairs doesn't work even though it's been replaced, bled and we had a power flush to try and get it to work! Anyway back to original question, which boiler!

If you want something super-reliable, get an Intergas. Woofter have around 350 engineers working 364 days of the year trying to keep all their boilers working properly. That's a lot of repairs!

guess he's been reading " which" i would pick the ideal but I'm bias thou . if your really worried about boiler reliability get better boiler for around the same price

The brand being touted above does not have the installed base nor the time elapsed in UK domestic houses to offer any worthwhile conclusions.

We all thought the new Vaillant ecoTec was good in 2004; experience has shown that just about every part was going to fail prematurely. The Keston boilers, 15 yrs back, were being hailed as the second coming on these forums; now they are skip fodder. The Buderus Nefit 600 series was touted as the dogs danglers, Dutch housing associations had never had a failure etc etc, didn't turn out well over here; The Dutch Remeha Avanta was being bigged up this very forum here 8-9 yrs ago; installers loved them - most have been ripped out now.

It could be that an Intergas boiler will be shown to be good, and the Wilo pump and descaling issues will be a storm in a teacup.

But as far as I'm concerned, I'll let the very small minority of my competitors road test it on paying customers and I will continue to fit Worcester Bosch. My customers like them, and I can sleep tight knowing that the support is there, whatever happens to me.

If in 10 years time, Intergas have survived intact in the UK, they will welcome me with open arms.

They've been sold in Holland for a lot longer.

Why would scale be a problem if the instructions are met?

Works much rather have a wilo than a grundfos too.
