Hi all have a Worcester Bosch 28 junior boiler. A few weeks ago it started acting up the wireless thermostat called for heat but it fires and runs but the heat is only Luke warm through the pipes

Reset the boiler and it's been fine for a few weeks

This morning wore up to a freezing house. Checked the boiler was running and it was but again only Luke warm the firing light is on as well. Managed to get it working again but I feel it's problems to come

I have renewed the batteries in the thermostat just in case

Any ideas what normally goes wrong for this to happen
There's no fault lights on the boiler

Probably a stuck diverter valve, pretty sure it's made of plastic like most other parts on this sh!tbox - they tend to wear out

I find them very confusing.

So which Junior has the plastic diverter valve at the right|?

28i Junior is a standard efficiency combi with bithermal heat exchanger.
"Greenstar" denotes that it's a condensing boiler with Worcester.

Bithermic heat exchanger. No plate, no diverter valve.

Now where have I heard that before? Surely that makes a boiler uber reliable?

Unless it's a Worcester, right? This boiler will be at least 11 yrs old, bear that in mind.

the boilers just over 7 years old which makes it ancient apparently lol. fitted a new expansion vessel at the end of last year.

it doesnt seem to have any issues with hot water though. is it common to get signal problems from the wireless stats

It makes it non compliant, unless you have a pretty unusual home. A lot of non compliant boilers were fitted back then in places they shouldn't have been, usually on the cheap.

Monty, your boiler is non condensing. Since April 2005 all boiler had to be condensing models.

Either your boiler was second hand when fitted or it was old stock.

Either way it was incorrect when fitted 7 years ago.

I suspect they stopped making them about 2004 or earlier.

Pretty silly calling both a non condensing boiler and a condensing one a "Worcester 28i Junior" !

They don't tony. They added the word greenstar for the condensing range.

Is it silly that you can buy a vw golf. And also a vw golf gti?
