Reminiscences

No way... You'll be telling me next that you liked Morisy....

Ok I liked the Specials...Too much too young

No, not so much Morissey, tho the other half did. I found it a bit miserable at the time I think, just the odd song which I liked thanks to Marr's talent.
I have done the Smiths tour in Manchester, an American friend came over and big Smiths fan wanted to see it all so had to oblige! She pinched a bit of crumbling wall of the Salford boys club and she acted like she'd won the lotto, bless.

Well dunno if its relevant ??

but the Stranglers used to live just down the road from me when they 1st started up many years ago

That makes you posh, the Stranglers were posh, well educated boys! And very very good :-)

And not to far away lived Rick Parfitt (status quo) and one of the members of Procul Harem ( think that's who they were)

I used to live in the villa next door to Stuart Adamsons parents out in Sharjah... Stuart senior and I went on a three day bender when he got fired for calling Mohammed Al Fayed a ****...

Sounds fair, Al Fayed was one by all accounts.
Stuart as in Big Country fame? Didn't his dad get locked up for kiddie fiddling?!

Yeah Stuart Adamson from Big Country... Didn't know about the kiddy fiddling, perhaps that's why he was out in the Middle East. They seemed like a really nice couple... They had lots of Scotch

Work at a large private estate where Mr. Clapton go's fly fishing.

drummer from Queen lives not to far away seen him in the local petrol station on several occasions. :)

Surrey is very popular with stars innit? Like Hertfordshire is popular with footballers. Nice areas I guess. I grew up mainly in Sussex which near to us had the lady who played Mrs Mccluskey from Grange Hill. She was still scary in real life :-)

Had a cuppa with Joan Armatrading
....and Boy George (who's a real canny fella.) Both were staying at a producers house next door.
John :)

Met Les Dawson (RIP) once.

Best moment however was in York, New Year's Eve.
I never really thought of myself as being the "starstruck" type; it might have been an acute attack of Tourette's though :D

Minding my own business outside a shop (swmbo was inside, spending many unproductive yet expensive minutes), I looked up to see James Nesbitt walking past, right in front of me.

Involuntarily, I pointed at him (almost poking him in the eye) and loudly blurted "Fook me - it's James Nesbitt!"

He looked at me like I'd gone out(y)
