At my previous house I had some problems with kids climbing my and neighbours fences late at night.
I nailed carpet gripper to the top of the fence and smeared on a cocktail of lithium bearing grease and ink (premixed in a tin).
I found a piece of tracksuit on the fence that week. But his mum had a he'll of a job laundering his clobber.

Did you just feel like telling a story? Always glad to hear people are delighted hurting kids.

No there wasn't Motorbiking me old fruit. That was remiss if me. At the time I had my garage broken into. They did a hundred quids worth of damage and stole a 99p bottle of car shampoo.
I did feel terribly guilty whilst pulling bits of chav comedy costume off me fence and had to invest in a tanker load of Nytol to help me sleep.

To TRY and stay within the law.
I BELIEVE that you can nail PLASTIC strip to the top of your fence to HELP prevent people climbing over into your property BUT, you MUST display a PROMINENT sign stating this fact and that TRESSPASSERS are at risk of personal injury and the owner will not be liable for ANY consequences suffered by someone disobeying/ignoring this notice.
It may also be advisable to have a word with your local crime prevention officer.

I have fond memories of cat creeping, scrumping & the legendary '40 gardens' from my youth.

Those who laid traps for us sufferred for it most.

P.S. Whatever happened to the art of scrumping?

I've used the sticky "anti-climb paint" on commercial premises. You are supposed to put up signs, I think I ordered a dozen off ebay and screwed them beside downpipes, bin shed and other aids to climbing. It has to be at a height where an innocent passer-by won't brush against it.

In 36 different languages?

In many states of the US you can legally shoot anybody intruding on your property. Sounds great.

I'm not really interested in English trespass laws. If I find anybody on my premises I hope their family finds the body and they get a christian burial.

In response to Neo the use of the word 'kids' doesn't really describe the tracksuit wearing, eyebrow pierced, dope smoking progeny of benefit claimants who were born purely so their 'mothers' got a free house.

'Safe geezer.....respect ayieeee......me kna blood.....' (Ali G colloquial dialect of track suit people).

Please be informed Conny that your caps lock key does indeed work perfectly.........

Just be careful to make it look like an accident!

No sympathy for the wastes of carbon and their poor mummies who no doubt steered their direction in life. Good on ya OP. Nobody is going to die of gripper rod impalation but it'll certainly smart.
