Hi. I'm looking to fit a soundbar on a wall but there are no plugs beneath it. The wall is directly below the stairs and right behind the wall is this thing pictured. Would it be possible to feed the soundbar power cable through the wall and connect directly to it or is this just for lighting? Will obviously be getting a spark out to do it. Thanks in advance.

Do you mean the junction box or the connectors?

Either way, it doesn't matter - no such thing as just for lighting - electricity doesn't care.

Yes you could connect to it - with due consideration from an electrician.

Quite possibly - but the first thing the electrician would need to do would be to work out exactly what that rather dodgy-looking "thing" actually is, and what (if anything) it is connected to. There is no way we can tell just from the photo.

Kind Regards, John

If the wires in to the block are live it really should have some insulation tape around it. The screws in the block and any exposed part of the block could be live. Obviously you want the power off before you tape it.
