But we're a small country, and we're getting swamped, so we need to take out one of the 4 freedoms till we can get things under control. It'll take about 15 years to build enough houses to accommodate the current population, let alone the numbers that keep coming in every year.

But the EU were right when they said that most of the immigration problems we had were down to our overly generous benefits system, but then turned round and said we couldn't change it because it would be unfair to immigrants, except Germany can do that because their rules are different. The EU also set up a web site that told immigrants how to claim benefits, so we get one message with one hand, and another story from the other. They are not concerned with helping and supporting us, only with telling us what to do, so I'm not sure if I can accept the amicable divorce story alongside all the others I've heard.

And yes, they're losing patience because they're not in control of the situation, that's all.

Just about all of the economic analysis shows immigration, especially from the EU, has major benefits here. East Europeans have high employment rates – about 8% higher than those who are UK-born. Pressure on schools and the NHS arises mostly because the government takes their money and doesn’t use it to provide the services they have paid for.

You make some good points John, but as the EU won't allow us to control immigration from the EU, it then has a knock on effect to other sources. And whilst eastern Europeans work harder than the brits, they also work for lower wages, and as many have family members over here, they end up taking more out of the system than they pay in. We're basically a bunch of idiots, being run by a bigger bunch who definitely don't know what they're doing.

You happily accuse me of a being a RWR, but I'm not by any stretch of the imagination, I read all sort or sources, and just stand back and see the bigger picture, and I despair at the stupidity of how people carry on. Most are like lemmings heading for the cliff edge, and I sometimes think it would be nice to join them.
