Good Afternoon all.

I have recently painted my hall and up the stairs and its dried up really patchey ive put at least 3 maybe even 4 coats on the walls now walls were bare plaster and were 50/50 paint and watered before I used full coat. Anyone got any ideas on how I can sort this or isit worth stripping it right back to the bare plaster sanding it down and washing the walls after?

Any help appreciated
Thanks

Isn't this the same problem as in your other post?
It might not be problems with painting as such, but imperfections in the plaster showing when the light reflects on it, which is made worse by the sheen of the paint.

OK so would I be best off stripping off the paint and sanding down the plaster?

Chris is right, I said the same in your first post, satin/soft sheen a bad choice for long stretches of walls due to limited light ( lack of windows etc) especially Hall Stairway Landing as ones eyes are focused up or down the stairs, so the imperfections will show due to the light reflecting off the sheen.
But that is just my personal opinion as a Decorator.

I assume that the wall had dried completely. Feel the wall, and see how smooth it is. If it undulates, then Smiwii is right, if it's smooth, then you may not have got a good enough coverage on your mist coat. You could do a test, and roller on some oil based undercoat on a small patch, and then try repainting that patch to see if it covers better.
