Would you insulate near a wire?

The wires are for the light switch and the wall is between the bathroom and hall. Insulation is just for sound.

I have built recording studios and the acoustic wool is much denser
 
You need to apply factors to the cable rating depending how much is buried insulation. Over 500mm usual means uping the cable to the next size up. Most people don't seem to bother though including electricians.

Presuming that is just the switch wires for 2 rooms the current is not going to be enough to get the wire warm so just fill it with insulation.
 
If it's 1mm cable then you'll be limited to a mere two of the large outdoor halogen floodlight in your Hall rather than four of them.
Lighting circuits are always massively over specced due to very little load.
 
Push them up against the plasterboard, that will allow the heat to escape via the board.

For sound insulation that does look a bit 'sad' - I just used some Rockwool one and it's very dense, stands up in the cavity on its own.

It will be fine, I am assuming it's not a recording studio. Waste of time spending loads of money on acoustic insulation in a stud wall unless you are going to the efforts of creating proper separation. Most of the sound transference will be through the studs.
The speed of sound in wood is 10 times plus that in air depending upon frequency.
 
As long as my missus can't hear me when I give myself a good scrub ;)

Yep, that is the case.
I remember as school experiment where on a very long wood bench hit one end with a hammer and used two microphones and a scope to see the difference.
I also have a feeling (but cannot remember if a false memory) putting one ear to the bench and being able to hear the difference.
I might have to test this and see if memory is true or not.

True but all this is irrelevant because it's attenuation you're interested in, not speed.
