Apologies if this is in the wrong section, I was torn between this one and the plumbing section.
I've recently re-fiited my bathroom, and moved the 110mm soil pipe which used to go straight up through the loft and roof to vent, to now go outside. I removed what I can of the pipe in the loft, but have not yet removed or capped off the remaining bit which is sticking out of the roof. So when it rains I will be getting a small amount of water coming in through the vent and dripping in the loft (I have placed a bowl here for now just to prevent any damage, although any water it does collect tends to evaporate away quickly enough).
However this is of course only a temporary fix and I need to get this sorted out properly. Who are the best people to contact to do this? A Roofer or a Plumber? Should I just get it capped off, or would it be better to remove it altogether? Is this a quick job? Expensive?
This is not a job a want to do myself as I do not have the appropriate ladders and am definitely not willing to go onto the roof either!
