Hi all

Is it possible to get these or something similar that use unique keys and not the bog standard torx style key?

Looking to add additional security to a timber door

Thanks in advance

Why not just add extra mortise locks top and bottom?
That's what we did for a vulnerable door

If they are only accessible from the inside, then they should be sufficient. Do you want something internal or external to the door.

Mortice locks are going to be more discrete, and a lot more secure than anything external. But you haven't said what's wrong with the rack bolts, as they do work well. I don't think there is much in between.

It’s a door for a shed, need it secure when locked externally. Rack bolts are good but anyone can have a key

shed doors are often rather thin for a mortice. How thick is yours?

If the door is a bit shabby, the holes for a rackbolt key, near the top and bottom, can be quite unobtrusive. But you need at least one proper lock. How do you feel about Brenton bolts and a weatherproof padlock such as the Squire 660?

Or you could have a rimlock or two, which are easy to fit. FB locks are more substantial than the tin locks usually fitted to sheds.

If you want it properly secure, and have a good solid door, I'd go for two 5-lever locks, one at shoulder and one at kick height.
