Hi,

I have/am replacing a toilet, that is now in a slightly different location to where it was, so need new soil connections.

I have a socket coming out of the wall, that is around 14 inches from the toilet (14 inches goes into the toilet, and into the soil pipe by abut an inch each side) and approximately 12cm lower down (from centre of the soil pipe to the centre of the toilet). Inside the pipe now is a white piece of rubber/plastic, what is this?

What do i need to connect this up please? I was under the impression that i cant connect a pan connector straight to the socket? I am more than likely going to box in the soil pipe area, and i would prefer not to use a flexi connector as i dont like the look of them, so i had an idea I could do the following:

use a short length of pipe out of the socket (like this https://www.screwfix.com/p/floplast-sp8g-soil-pipe-single-socket-grey-110mm-x-1m/27141)
then connect a 90deg socket to the pipe ( like this https://www.screwfix.com/p/floplast-sp161g-92-5-bend-single-socket-grey/18833)
then connect a 90deg pan connector to the 90 deg socket ( like this https://www.screwfix.com/p/mcalpine-macfit-mac-8-90-wc-short-pan-connector-white-90-112mm/89461)

Would this work at all? The thing i'm worried about is that the pan connector looks a bit long (says length 235mm) but thats the total length, and surely i would push a fair bit of this into the 90deg connector?

Or is there a much easier way i have overlooked?

Thanks - pictures of the pipes now for clarification:

The white bit inside the socket is the ribbed gasket off of the old pan connector... remove this completely and clean up the socket (including greasing the o ring). Following that, I’m not sure where you want to relocate the pan! How about a plan view sketch of where things are and where you want them to be! That would help us a lot in deciphering your objective!

Plan view is from above? If so, the toilet is in a straight line with the soil stack, but about 12cm higher
Either extend pipe out to loo with a couple of these, https://www.toolstation.com/shop/Roofing+&+Drainage/d250/Soil+&+Vent/sd2849/Bend+110mm+135°/p11498

And standard pan connector (avoid 90degree bends on soil pipe).

Or simplest use a flexi pan connector (they work just fine ).
I'm not sure how this would work? The toilet is in a straight line with the soil, but 12cm higher. Isnt a standard pan connector also straight? Do you mean, one 135deg connector, then another one 'upside down' to form an 's' shape? How much height and length would this give?

Maybe i'll rethink the flexi!

Thanks

Which usually involves a plan drawing!
I am familiar with Orthographic Projection, having attained a grade A in Graphic Communication, to A level.
I'm not familiar with orthographic projection, sorry. Its still in a straight line though, not sure a plan view is needed?

If you go with a flexi you will need a short off cut of soil pipe to fit in the wall socket as they fit inside standard soil pipe.(the socket on its own is too large for a good fit)

I love flexi’s but... so does sh!t and... on ground floor... rats!

Thanks, that was actually going to be the next question!

This is my worry, and one of the reasons i dont want to use one!

What's the worry.
He implied they are ****?!
Thanks, but two things:
One, would this give me the height i need - this one says 40mm, but i need 120mm
Two, would i still need a length of pipe to push into the socket as mentioned above?

Thanks
