Soldering copper pipe near plastic push fit.

Is there a safe distance plastic push fit needs to be away from the other end of a copper pipe being soldered?

Put a wet rag over anything you want to keep from getting affected - except electrical components.

Or, if the pushfit is on the same bit of pipe/system, just remove it.

When at your local plumbers merchant, ask about the heatproof mats they sell. Only a few quid and used to cover stuff that you do not want to burn when heating nearby copper.

iirc when speedfit first came out,they mentioned 450mm. Maybe check your pipe manufacture.

Apart from prevention of heat damage,any flux that has run inside the soldered joint will need cleaning out.

La-Co Cool Gel, £9.99 from wickes. Spray it onto the copper pipe down by the push fit, and you'll be fine, but just make sure you don't get any on the part you're soldering, or you'll never get the joint done.
