Our heating thermostat is positioned where we suspect it is being confused by the tumble dryer. The thermos is in a small hallway but around the corner in the utility room is the tumble dryer. Current thermostat is a Honeywell, boiler is oil fired Trianco Eurostar, (in the same room as the dryer).
We want to fit a ' remote' thermostat somewhere else and have come across these;

Honeywell CMT921 (ScrewFix)
Horstmann HRFS1 (5 star rated on ScrewFix)

As we are in rented property I don't want to start fiddling with any wiring unless it's to simply swap a unit. Will either of the above units be suitable, and if so, which would you recommend?

You really should speak with your landlord. If your current stat is wired, then the new receiver will need to be wired in to replace it. As a landlord I would not be pleased if a tenant did this themselves, I would however be prepared to listen to their concern and react to it.

Wiring is usually simple enough, but only if you are competent. The CM921 requires N and L to be powered, and then the Switched Live goes to the boiler. You'd have to remove the old stat to see if it has a Neutral or not.

You MUST isolate the electrics before removing it and have a multimeter to hand to test the connections. If you're unsure, I'd get a pro in.

The old thermostat can be put back when you move out.

Thanks guys. We have a very amenable landlord so will always speak to him first but I wanted to know if either of these would be suitable. Cheers.

Time proportional integral.

The clever bit.

Oooh! Albert would be proud... another factor that enables predetermined algorithms to be fudged :D

And again Dan... tried email and text but will do here...

あなたとあなたの家族の仲間に幸せな新年。私と私から。

Hope that translates as intended (y)

Cheers dude. All I will say is..... It was understood :D

God help me... Something traditional is being cooked up to celebrate.... It looks more like something you'd find on a Klingon battle ship mess hall.

As familiar as I now am with your bowel movements (ahem!)... I’d suggest staying as close to the China (pun intended) as you are able, for the next 12hours... in fact... sleep on it, just to be safe :ROFLMAO:
