Oil Tank Watchman - Older model: What do the numbers mean?

Hi again folks,

I have just moved into a rural property that has oil fired CH and there is a watchman attached to the oil tank. This looks like an old model and has what I think is a 'numeric' display rather than the more recent 'fuel gauge' type indicators on it.

When I plugged in the receiver, I was greeted with the letter 'r' and the flashing red light on the unit! I was told by the plummer (who came to fix a fault with the Worcester Bosch Combi - a tale in itself) that it was the battery pack that needed replacing on the sender. I have changed the batteries and now I get the number '5' on the display - no flashing lights.

I think it's working now but I have no clue what the readout '5' means. I know there is oil in the tank .

Anyone know what the readouts mean on these older watchman units?

The manufacturer website has no info on discontinued models and the previous owner of the house didn't leave any documentation.

Cheers fella. At least the previous owners made good on their promise of putting 500L in the tank before the house was handed over - I hope!!

Do these older models not need to be 'synced up' by touching the sender with the receiver like the newer ones do?

They're paired when they're installed, shouldn't need re-pairing after that
