Air compressor fitting

I recently bought a used air compressor (my first one)
I dont yet have any tools for itn but i understand there are several different connection types euro/pcl etc.

Can anyone tell me what connection type i have on the outlet union of my unit?

Hoping to pick up some tools and hoses from screwfix this weekend but not sure what fittings and adaptors ill need to hook everything up properly

Anyone got any advice on what connections ill need?

What make\model is the compressor? surely a google of that might throw up a result?

Not easy to tell from the female end.

PCL and the Euro type 25 are the most common.

I find a lot of tools now come with a Euro, type 25 fitting -although it doesnt metter that much as the tool will have a standard BSF thread on its air inlet.

The Euro quick release are a bit more compact.

Why dont you take off the fitting you have and take it with you to screwfix. It looks like the compressor end of the fitting is a female BSF. BSF come in different sizes and confusingly the size is not the external thread diameter. So a 1/4" bsf is more like a 1/2" thread. Google bsf thread sizes and print out a chart, so you get the correct size

The thread doesn't clear up exactly what type of fitting it is so ill remove it and take it with me to screwfix to make sure i get the correct bits

From the length of it I'd be pretty certain it's a standard PCL/ "English" fitting.

The sockets on a "Euro"/PCL XF are shorter and more stubby, just like the tailpieces. Plus given the output of that compressor it won't even max out the flow rate of a standard PCL so it's unlikely the manufacturer would fit the higher cost high flow fittings.
